An 18th century Holiday Dinner:
Chestnuts, Roast Turkey, and Tarts

The kitchens in the homes of our ancestors was the most central room of the house.
The typical American depended on the fire place for their survival.

All cooking was done over the fire which was kept burning continuously.

Cook stoves did not become common untill the mid 19th century.

We will be learning the diversity of the cooking and eating habits in early America, what types of food colonists would eat, and how they would prepare it.
